Kidney Failure in Dogs – What it is and What it Does?

Kidney Failure in Dogs

Kidney failure in dogs is extremely common and can cause a lot of pain or even death if you’re not careful, and don’t react to the symptoms quickly.

Most people start panicking when they see any of the symptoms I mentioned above, then they go and visit the vet that obviously puts their animal on drugs. Those drugs will of course help for a short while, but may not be a cure-all in the long run.

Now, I am not saying, that you should forget the vet and just try to take care of your dog’s problems on your own. Kidney failure in dogs is very serious and without proper, professional help it might be very hard for you to help your dog out, but there certainly are natural things that are not only very effective in fighting kidney failure in dogs but also extremely healthy for your furry friend.

Proper exercise

One of the things I like to recommend to people whose dogs suffer from kidney failure is proper exercise.
Imagine this: you’re sitting at your desk all day every day typing away on your keyboard, you get up for lunch, you get up to the bathroom, and you get up to go home after work. When you’re done with work, you go to your car, sit down and you drive. You get home, and you sit down to have dinner, and then you go to your living room and you sit down to watch some TV… you see where I’m going with this?

If you keep living that way, you can be fairly sure that by the time you’re sixty-five, you may have some serious kidney problems. The same is true of your dog. Dogs live much shorter, they get older faster, so their kidney problems don’t start when they are sixty-five. They start when there are four, five, six, or seven years old. If you want to make sure that your dog doesn’t get kidney problems, walk him out regularly. Don’t be lazy about it. If your dog already has serious problems with his kidneys, then a nice walk could be very helpful to him as it will improve the efficiency of his kidneys. Just don’t get too hard on him.

Other solutions

Another thing that’s very important which I always recommend whenever someone says that their dog is suffering from canine kidney failure, is this one substance that always helps, that mysterious substance is… water.

I’m sure you’re been told to serve fresh, clean water to your four-legged buddy, but I’d like you to remember something: the kidneys have a very special role in the body. They are filters. They get rid of all the toxins, all the harmful substances, dirt, waste, etc. they filter everything out.

Don’t you think that if you constantly overwork the kidneys, they will finally give in and stop functioning properly? Don’t you think that if you don’t drink clean water every single day, you cause your kidneys to work much harder than usual? I’m sure you know the answers to these questions. So go out and get some clean water for your friend.

Kidney failure in dogs can be a very serious issue. As I have already mentioned, if you’re not careful it will cause your dog to die, thankfully there are many things you can do to prevent your dog from ever having this problem or, if he already has it, help him get through it smoothly.
